Lima has a subtropical and desertic climate, yet the
microclimate also makes it very humid
There are two seasons in Lima, summer and winter.
During the summer months (mid December to mid March) the
average temperatures will range from 77º - 83º F (25º -
28º C). Remember in South America the seasons are
reversed. Without a double the summer is the best time
to relax on the city beaches of Lima.
Winter season is known for grey, overcast and humid days.
The average temperatures will range from 54º to 59º
F(12º to 15º C).
Garúa (rain extremely thin and fine) is most frequent
during the winter period (in June-July-August), when the
weather in Lima not is at its best. Rains in Lima are
non existent. Many Lima residents have never used an
umbrella in their lives. Overall Lima has a mild climate
throughout the year. You will never be too hot or cold
in Lima
Most tourists
prefer to visit Lima during North America's summer
because the weather in Cuzco and MachuPicchu is better.
Therefore, the winter is considered the high season for
Lima tourism.
